College achieves international recognition

We are pleased to announce that the Australian College of Pharmacy has been granted accredited provider status for all types of continuing pharmacy education for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians by the USA-based Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE).

College staff take pride in providing the best possible advice and support to members and CPD developers. We know from your feedback our advice and support is greatly valued. We continually strive to improve our pharmacy education expertise and our CPD systems and this result is a key achievement.

The President of the College, Georgina Twomey is delighted with the result, stating that the recognition is validation that the College is “on the right path” in terms of its approach to CPD standards and as a provider of meaningful CPD for the profession. “We are proud to be the first Australian pharmacy education provider to achieve this status”.

In 2013, the Academic Board decided to set a new standard for the College’s education program. The Chair of the College’s Academic Board, Professor Roberts said:

“This result is an important milestone which will enable the College to accredit CPD for our international clients and  the recent work we have done to attain this recognition will allow the College to continue with its tradition of providing the best possible standard of clinical and management CPD to Australian pharmacists”.
