Overview 

Designed to give an overview of the role of the lung microbiome in respiratory health, the gut-lung axis, and the use of probiotic supplements in preventing and treating respiratory infections.

After completing this activity, pharmacists should be able to:

  1. describe the development and role of the lung microbiome in respiratory health;
  2. describe the gut–lung axis;
  3. describe the evidence supporting the use of probiotic supplements in preventing and treating respiratory infection.
