Designed to give an overview of glaucoma including key modifiable risk factors, common side effects of medications used to treat glaucoma, and patient care.

Learning Objectives

After completing this activity, pharmacists should be able to:

  1. describe the conditions of primary open-angle glaucoma and ocular hypertension;
  2. identify key modifiable risk factors for glaucoma progression;
  3. discuss common side effects of medication used to treat glaucoma;
  4. discuss disease state and medication management with the patient;
  5. collaborate with ophthalmologists, optometrists, GPs, NPs and nurses to improve quality of life and cost-effectiveness.
