Diploma of Retail Management
We offer the Diploma of Retail Management that provides the skills and knowledge required for higher management positions. To make your subject selection a little easier, we have also clustered units into three 'streams', which consist of tailored subjects that are useful in the retail environment of community pharmacy. These subjects are listed within three streams reflecting the three functional areas of retail management that are most common in community pharmacy in Australia. The suggested study streams are:- Pharmacist
- Retail manager
- HR manager
The Diploma consists of two core subjects plus a further seven electives. Please note that you can make other subject choices, which are listed in the full subject outline attached.
The assessment is currently conducted on the completion of each unit, and we are working towards project-based assessments where our assessors will assist you in choosing a project that is aligned with/part of your-day-to-day work. In most instances, what you have to do for work becomes what you have to do for assessment within the diploma and we believe this will overcome one of the major stumbling blocks to study, which require the extra work in writing up assignments and questions which, while they relate to the study material bear little or no real resemblance to your day-to-day activities. By using a project-based approach we hope to significantly cut down your after hours work whilst improving the relevance of the material to your day-to-day work.
More detailed information may be found in the course prospectus and application form available for download below. This material has greater detail on individual subjects.
