Meet our National Secretariat

General Manager
Jenny Bergin  BPharm, MBA, GAICD, FACP

Jenny is the General Manager of the Australian College of Pharmacy. She has worked in many health care settings including hospital and community pharmacy. She managed the Guild’s Quality Care Pharmacy Program and gained experience in health promotion as Director, Community and Aged Care in Southern Tasmania and President of the Community Health Association in Tasmania.

Education & Research Manager
Dr Brett MacFarlane  BPharm(Hons), PhD, FACP

Brett graduated with honours from the School of Pharmacy at the University of Queensland and was subsequently awarded a PhD, by UQ Medicine, in the field of skin science. Brett is a visiting fellow in the School of Clinical Sciences, Faculty of Health at the Queensland University of Technology. He has worked in community pharmacy as a pharmacist and manager for over 20 years. His primary role at the College is to guide the production of its clinical education and direct its research projects. He also contributes to College CPD activities and educational products and liaises with College industry partners. Brett aims to promote the role of the College in instigating practice change in pharmacy for the benefit of pharmacists and the community.

Company Secretary/Manager Business Education
Peter Reeves Dip. App. Sci., MBA (Mon-Thurs)

Peter manages two roles for the College.  As Company Secretary, he is responsible for compliance with all statutory requirements and ensuring the College is a financially sustainable provider of pharmacist education.  His second role is the management of the College’s processes as a Registered Training Organisation.  He has the academic qualification and business experience to produce and deliver the accredited Leadership and Management education products.  Peter has more than 40 years’ experience in quality accreditation of community pharmacies, quality assurance, technical service and marketing practice in a wide range of industries and government departments.

Professional Development Officer 
Craig Dowdy BPharm (Mon-Wed)

Craig has been a pharmacist for over 30 years, working most of his career in the community pharmacy setting as both an owner and manager, practising in Adelaide, Darwin and Canberra.  He also has experience in hospital pharmacy and has worked as a pharmaceutical advisor in the PBS section of Medicare Australia.  He is enthusiastic about being involved in the production of interesting and relevant CPD activities suitable for pharmacists working in all areas of the profession.
