Designed to give an overview of the management of sore throats presenting in pharmacy, including common causes, symptomatic therapies, advice for customers, and when to refer.

Learning Objectives

After completing this activity, pharmacists should be able to:

  1. discuss the most common causes of sore throat;
  2. describe the evidence base for symptomatic therapies for sore throat;
  3. provide patients with advice on the management of sore throat;
  4. determine when to refer patients with sore throat for further evaluation.
