Learning Objectives

After completing this activity, pharmacists should be able to:

  1. define palpitations;
  2. describe the symptoms of palpitations;
  3. describe the various types of arrhythmias;
  4. describe what QT-interval is and its causes;
  5. recognise the drugs that may cause prolongation of QT-interval;
  6. counsel patients exhibiting symptoms of palpitations as to their course of action.
