Overview 

Designed to give an overview of preconception planning in pharmacy including the role of pharmacists, chronic disease management, and medication classes that require discussion during preconception planning.

Learning Objectives

After completing this activity, pharmacists should be able to:

  1. recognise the role of pharmacists in preconception planning;
  2. recognise key adjustments to chronic disease management suggested in pregnancy;
  3. recognise the influence of pharmacogenomics on medication management in pregnancy;
  4. recognise medication classes that require discussion during preconception planning.
