Learning Objectives
After completing this activity, pharmacists should be able to:
- identify the use of insulin in the treatment of patients with type 1 and type 2 diabetes;
- describe the desired properties of basal and bolus insulins;
- distinguish between the properties of newer insulins and indicate the advice that should be given to patients using these therapies.
