Designed to give an overview of the ways pharmacists can assist their customers in reducing harm from opioids, counselling advice on managing adverse effects, and the biopsychosocial approach to pain management.

Learning Objectives

After completing this activity, pharmacists should be able to:

  1. List ways in which pharmacists are helping in reducing harm from opioid analgesics
  2. Describe adverse effects of opioids and counselling advice pharmacists can give patients in managing them
  3. Outline the biophychosocial approach to pain management
