Designed to give an overview of common respiratory tract infections in children, including causative pathogens, the place of antibiotics in management, and the role of the pharmacist.

Learning Objectives

After completing this activity, pharmacists should be able to:

  1. discuss common respiratory tract infections in children including causative pathogens and management;
  2. describe the place of antibiotics in the management of respiratory tract infections and strategies to prevent antibiotic resistance;
  3. explain the role of the pharmacist in providing antibiotic stewardship in the community and support for children with respiratory tract infections.
