Gives an overview of common illnesses among travellers, focusing on opportunities for pharmacists to provide travel health care to international travellers. 

Learning Objectives

After completing this activity, pharmacists should be able to:

  1. describe the health risks associated with international travel;
  2. list treatment options for travellers’ diarrhoea;
  3. discuss the management of individuals in the pharmacy prior to travel to tropical regions;
  4. describe malaria prevention strategies and chemoprophylaxis for international travellers
