Designed to help pharmacists understand and appreciate chronic pain from a patients perspective. The article covers counselling language styles and is especially useful for those conducting medication reviews.

Learning Objectives

After completing this activity, pharmacists should be able to:
1. explain the multimodal approach to chronic pain management;
2. integrate concepts of patient activation and validation in patient conversations;
3. identify elements of pain catastrophising during patient conversations;
4. apply patient-centred approach to pain management during medication reviews
