Overview 

Designed to give an overview of the benefits of breastfeeding, common infant feeding difficulties and the potential role of specialty formulas for infants with feeding difficulties

Learning Objectives

After completing this activity, pharmacists should be able to:

  1. Describe why babies should be preferentially fed with human breast milk
  2. Compare the constituents and nature of breast milk to infant formulas
  3. Describe some common infant feeding difficulties
  4. Outline the potential role of specialty formulas for infants with feeding difficulties
  5. Describe the nutritional requirements of toddlers
