Designed to give an overview of the major causes of eye disease, and the micronutrients identified as having important roles in visual health, as well as supplements used.

Learning Objectives

After completing this activity, pharmacists should be able to:

  1. identify the major causes of visual impairment and/or eye disease;
  2. discuss the key micronutrients identified as having an important role in vision health;
  3. describe the role that dietary supplements have in preventing or treating age-related macular degeneration, and the evidence base surrounding these supplements
