Designed to help pharmacists identify the causes and symptoms of ear wax impaction, and provide information on appropriate treatment options.

Learning Objectives

After completing this activity, pharmacists should be able to:

1. recognise the causes and symptoms of ear wax impaction;

2. identify an ear wax impaction, including identification of symptoms warranting referral;

3. discuss the treatment options and evidence of use for the treatment of ear wax impaction;

4. recall self-care advice for the prevention and management of ear wax impaction.
