Overview 

As community pharmacy is often the first place a person with symptoms of dry eye will go for advice and symptom relief, it is important for pharmacists to know about the different types of dry eye, its causes and treatment options.

Learning Objectives

After completing this activity, pharmacists should be able to:

  1. outline the causes of dry eye syndromes;
  2. list the risk factors for the development of dry eye;
  3. list the symptoms of dry eye.
