Overview 

This article discusses risk management of compounded non-sterile medications in the pharmacy setting. The article outlines different approaches for risk management. Prior knowledge of compounding is required for the pharmacist to complete this activity.

1. describe the different guidelines and systems available to assess and manage risk when compounding;

2. describe factors that should be considered when conducting a risk assessment.
