Designed to give an overview of the scientific evidence for the multiple uses of magnesium.

Learning Objectives

After completing this CPD activity pharmacists should be able to:

  1. identify the roles of magnesium within the human body;
  2. describe the evidence for the use of magnesium supplementation in migraine headaches;
  3. describe the evidence for the use of magnesium supplementation for nocturnal leg cramps;
  4. describe the role of magnesium within the neuroendocrine system;
  5. describe the evidence for the use of magnesium supplementation for the treatment of anxiety.
